PNEUMATIC INSTRUMENT: THE FLASK
Sitting around a campfire blowing across the top of my beer bottle gave me an idea. An automated bottle instrument. I needed to control air pressure and air flow with the appropriately tuned bottle in the right order and preferably in a rhythmic fashion.
The market focus was the life science industry and the next show was the labautomatino show. So, flask seemed more appropriate than beer bottles.
The goal was to entertain with a creative and fun display that would show off the technical ability to precisely and accurately control pressure and flow of fluids.

28 Flask filled with Glycol and UV pigments with Pneumatic nozzles controlled by Proportional Valves.
28 UV Leds to illuminate each Flask that activate in conjunction with the proportional valves.
4 Mini LEDS (visual tempo leds)
Pneumatic Whistle
4 Digital Pressure controllers to control flask volume controlled by Midi 0-127 via a midi to 0-10 vdc synth box.
ENTTEC ELM DMX lighting Controller
Ableton Live DAW to control Midi Relays going to proportional valves and LEDS
All mounted in an artistic squeeze block and rod assembly.
